N.V.S. Objectives :

 

 

The Objectives of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Goindwal, Tarn Taran have been given below :

 

*      To provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values. Awareness of environment, Adventurous Activities and Physical Education to the talented children.

 

*      To ensure that all students of the Navodaya Vidyalaya attain a reasonable level of competence in three language formulae, that is, English, Hindi and Regional Language.

 

 

*      To serve in each district, as a pace setting institution for the improvement in the quality of school education in general through sharing of experience and facilities. 

 

*      To promote national integration by providing opportunities to talented children largely from rural areas in different parts of the country, to line and learn together.

 

*      To develop the personality of the students by drawing out, whatever is the best in them, mentally morally and physically?

 

*      To become especially useful excellent human being with Qualities, Discipline. Determination, Dedication, Devotion, Conviction, Courage and Competence.

 

 

Objectives of J.N.V. Goindwal District Tarn Taran :

 

*      To come true to the expectations of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in terms of all around development of the children.

*      To achieve excellence in the field of academics, Games, Sports, Co Curricular Activities and all other activities concerned.

*      To serve as a model school in the whole district to inspire the neighborhood institutions.   

*      To effect the development of the society through pace-setting activities.

*      To implement or act up to the circulars sent time to time by Regional Office or Head Quarter for the betterment of the performance of the vidyalaya.

*      To ensure the welfare of its occupants both staff and students.

*      To make the best use of local resources for the betterment of the vidyalaya.

*      To achieve excellence in education.

*      To become focal point at district level for quality improvement.

*      To bring out the talent and aptitude in children and direct them towards excellence.

*      To become the catalyst of a nation wide programme of school improvement.

*      Complete integration of physical, intellectual, emotional and ethical components of personality of students.

To develop socially useful excellent human being with qualities, discipline, determination, dedication, devotion, conviction, courage and competency

 

 

Academic

 

1.                  Tentative daily routine from Regional Office is to be implemented w. e. f. April 01, 2006.

2.                  All round development of potential child and smooth running of the Vidyalaya annual calendar month wise.

3.                  Implementation of time table to ensure the following

*      Smooth running of main period (I-VIII period)

·        (from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm)

*      Remedial Class after lunch will be in two shifts i.e.

·        from 3:30 pm to 4:20 pm and 4:20 pm to 5:10 pm.         

*      Super wise study (After Games) at 6:45 pm to 7:45 pm for all children.

[Night Special Class for board class 9:15 pm to 10:30 pm.

*        Morning Class (Extra – Class) (Under remedial and enrichment program) for Board students.

§         from 6:00 am to 7:00 am.

*      Emphasis on difficult subject viz. English, Economics, Mathematics and Physics.        

 

4.                  Following implementation under CCE :

*      Split –up of syllabus will be implemented under     CCE.

*      Follow up of the split up of syllabus by the concerned teacher; it should be planned month wise.

*      Smooth conduction of unit test and evaluation work as per schedule it should be conducted on every Monday and Thursday of the month. 

 

*      Identification of work and bright students; it should be finalized in July month.

*      Remedial program for slow learner it should be started from July month.

 

 

*           Enrichment program for bright student. It should be implemented from month of July.

*      Proper maintenance of all record related to CCE and cumulative card and health card.      

 

 

 

 

5.                  Following Methodology should be adopted  :

 

*      Integration of computer technology in teaching learning process. At least two periods should be taught through computers.

*      Use of Audio-Visual aids in teaching learning.

*      Project based learning programme should be based on enquiry.

*      Other innovative practice should be used by all teachers.  

 

CCA :

 

For all round development of child CCA activities performed under following heads :

1.            Cultural Activities :

 

*      Organization of Dance and Folk Dance competitions.

*      Organization of Drama, Nukkad  Natak and Mimicry.

*      National Song, Folk Song and Music.

*      Organization of performing Art

 

 

 

2.             Literacy Activities :

 

*      Story ``writing and Story Telling will be organized as per schedule.

*      Poem competition and Poem recitation will be performed as per schedule.

*      Essay writing.

*      Debate and Declamation.

*      Speech Delivery.

*      News Reading.

*      Hindi Pakhwada.

3.            Quiz Competition :

 

As per action plan of various clubs in the Vidyalaya following competition will be organized science quiz, social literacy quiz and computer quiz.

 

4.            Provision for Mobile Library  :

Ø      Provision for mobile library to the neighboring village and vidyalaya to promote reading habit.

 

5.            Exhibition  :

 

The following activities will be done during exhibition. Preparation of science models, social science model for portrait and painting. These Science models will be exhibited in the labs to create the scientific environment among the students and to develop their creative skills.     

 

 

6.            Hobby Clubs :

 

*      Editorial club will compile the vidyalaya magazine.

*      Eco club will be responsible for eco-friendly campus.

*      Social service club will be responsible for human relation.

*      Science club will be formed to inculcate scientific temperament in children.

*      Literacy club will be formed to inculcate creativity in children.

*      Computer Club for advancement in learning.

*      Adventure club for responsible for adventure work e.g. cycling, Para Gliding, Self Defence, Hiking, maintaining etc. 

 

 

 

7.            Pace Setting :

 

 Following activities will be performed :

 

*      Promotion of awareness of rural health and population control.

*      Involvement in Pulse Polio programme.

 

*      Computer education program for neighborhood school children.

*      Environmental awareness programme for neighbouring village and schools.

*      Participate in literary campaign in rural area vidyalaya.

*      Excursion tours to develop social harmony with the help of Nukkad Natak Drama and Songs etc.

 

8.             Games and Sports  :

 

Games and Sports competition programme will be effected as per sports calendar for physical development of students.

 

 

9.            NCC :

 

NCC activities will be conducted as per action plan made by NCC In-charge. Demand for opening of JD girls unit will be sent to NCC Director, Hurdle area requisition also be sent to Regional Office and Head Quarter.   

 

10.         Scout / Guide :

 

Scouting activities program as per action plan of the concerned In-charge, Girls unit also emerged in the school in this session.

 

11.        NSS Unit is also to be established in the Vidyalaya.

 

12.        Celebration of National, Regional Festivals, Special Occasion as per specified date in the calendar.

 

 

Infrastructure :

 

*      Cleanliness in the neighborhood vidyalaya will be ensured.

*      Beautification of campus will be done regularly.

*      Plantation and flowering in the campus will be done by Economics Club.

*      As per requirement of vidyalaya M & R will be effected.

*      Health and Hygiene of campus and surrounding will be ensured regularly.

*      For the safety and security purpose boundary wall should be increased two feet and  fencing should be installed on it.    

*      Mess Committee Meeting will be conducted monthly. If any change is needed that will be considered with in limits of departmental mess. Cleanness in the mess and discipline will be ensured in the mess.

·                     Note : Extension of dining hall be demanded

*      Housemasters will conduct weekly meeting regularly in their respective house and will look after the accommodation aspect and other related things.

*      All items which are to be given to students must be ensured by the vidyalaya administration with in budgetary limit in the first week of every month. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Committees:    

 

*      VMC meeting will be held as per requirement of vidyalaya twice in a year.

*      Vidyalaya advisory committee will be held time to time in a year possibly.

*      Purchase in vidyalaya will be made as per requirement decided by PAC headed by Principal as per purchase rules.

*      Meeting of PTC will be conducted regularly in every month for discussion about academic aspect, accommodation aspect, Vidyalaya Mess facility and any other current problems faced by vidyalaya.

*      Discipline committee will be responsible for maintaining discipline in the vidyalaya, monitoring about discipline will be closely watched by committee with effective manner

*      Committee for safety and security will ensure the safety of the students.

*      Hazard prevention measures will be taken into account, House Master would follow ten point safety programs with effective manner.

*      JNVST (Class VI & IX) work will be done as per direction from Principal and I/C JNVST and as per Samiti rules.

*      Mathematics Lab has been established as per instruction of Samiti to create interest among the students in Mathematics but separate room is needed.

*      Junior Science Lab for junior classes will be established immediately but for this purpose separate room is needed.

*      School museum has been established in Art room so separate room is required.

*      Alumni Meet is scheduled to be held in the month of December. Publicity would be extended in the newspapers. Annual function for students will be planned in March/April month in every year where students, parents should be called in.   

 

 

Integration of Computer Technology [ICT]:

In order to achieve the desired goal of the providing quality modern education  it is very essential for the school aspect, use, deploy, teach, learn and function through use of the computers. The system has designed to simulate students‘ curiosity and engage their active participation. The following pedagogical element will be included in the system.    

*      Use of system’s multimedia materials such as videos animations will be made to facilitate traditional activities.

*      Interactive teaching–learning application: To focus on critical technology skill, concept, stimulate creative thinking and be paced.

*      Formative and summative assessments will be carried out by giving numerous exercises like interactive multiple choices quizzes, challenging problems that requires a typed answer, essay questions and term projects, laboratory and home experiment, assignment and group activities.

*      For maximum utility of computers the school will have computer literary labs. Computer aided labs for teaching subject with interaction through computers, computer supported class room to support teachers for making powerful presentation, computer supported library for quick access of information, and computers supported office for the purpose of online record of according to transaction, issue of store, stock entries.

*      Maximum use of computers, Internet, Surfing of websites and other learning technologies will be made to develop ability in students to construct their own knowledge.

*      The focus will be on to download the materials from the worldwide websites, classify and analyze them.

*      Access learning resources.

*       Stress will be laid in organizing the information obtained on the net.

*      Online interaction with other students across country.

 

 

*       Special emphasis on to integrate learning with local folklore, fine arts and cultural activities.

*      Students will acquire the information for career counseling opportunity.

*      The students will be equipped to develop the ability to form a web of their own knowledge with various available formats of information technology and IT enables learning.

*       The teaching shall utilize the computer as an important aid for preparation of lesson – plans, data collection and institutional design.

*      Computer will be used for filling up of the gap inadequate textbooks, library books, subject teaching.

*      Community Support: Extending computer literary to the neighborhood children.   

*       Mention important projects taken up in the school

Following projects have been taken up by the Vidyalaya with the help of students under the guidance of Vidyalaya teachers.

*    “Project Shiksha” is a project under which all the staff members were trained to work on Computers.

*    Divine Series Softwares are used

*    JIL Project with 350 Capsules is to be used by Science,        Mathematics, and Social Science Teachers.

*    IT Shiksha Project to teach Computer in Hindi is used by Hindi Teachers.

*    Teaching in smart class room with the use of Computer.

*    S’ Chand series software are used for the all different subjects.

 

 

 

 

House System:

 

House system is adopted as envisaged by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.  There are four houses namely:

*    Aravali

*    Shivalik

*    Nilgiri

*    Udaigiri

The houses are under control of HMs/AHMs who will be responsible for the effective administration and discipline. HMs/ AHMs are advised that safety and security aspect to be given special attention and to be extra vigilant about their house inmates and activities. HMs / AHMs are assisted by House Captain and Vice Caption for strengthening the administration of the vidyalaya. The above house is grouped into 920 wings viz. Senior (A) and Junior (B). Senior wing comprises of students of Class IX and Class XII. Where as junior wing comprises of students of Class VI and Class VIII. This division has been effected for inter–house activities. The House wise division of Vidyalaya‘s strength is as follows.

 

House Appointments:

 

Vidyalaya will appoint from each house, based on performance, the following :

Vidyalaya level appointments from senior classes in consultation with HMs for effective management will be as follows :

*    School Captain Boys :        01

*    School Captain Girls :        01

*    School Vice- Captain(Boys) :       01

*    School Vice- Captain (Girls):       01

HMs and AHMs :

 

Each house will have a HM assisted by a AHM. Other miscellaneous and teaching staff is attached to the house to, conduct activities and academic guidance.

 

House Meetings:

 

Every month each house will conduct meeting with the students to decide better functioning of their house. The minutes of all meetings will be placed before the Principal and problems with the students will be stored out immediately. Likewise every month a meeting of all the students of all houses will be conducted with the Principal all teachers where the students with their common problems and share the activities of their house with others.                 

                    

Safety and Security:

 

It is very important aspect of the Vidyalaya. Several instruction received from Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti will be read to the member of staff time to time. These will be implemented at the most security risks points in the premises electric wire fittings will always be in good order. Students will also be appraised or counseled for  precaution about them.     

Discipline :

 

Discipline is the first requisite in all walks of life and schools are thought to be temples of learning. Any house without discipline will surely go to the dogs. Teachers can’t teach if the  students don’t maintain discipline. No progress is possible without discipline. It is discipline which enables a nation to march on the way to progress. In vidyalaya the staff members should set an example of self discipline and be an source of inspiration in every aspect. Hence, meeting will be conducted from time to time with staff and students to inculcate the value of discipline HMs / AHMs   will counsel students to be ideal in their life and be a good disciplinarian. Teachers will give them education based on sound principles.  

 

 

 

 

Mess :

 

Mess is the most valuable point to be taken care of Mess employees have been directed to discharge their duties effectively. Besides HMs / AHMs have been advised to ensure that the students be taught adequate, manners and discipline decorum. During the year it will be aimed that provisions be within the funds, preparations be sumptuous services be satiating and the discipline be decent. Matter for one more dining hall will be persuaded.

for the effective mess management a mess committee comprising of following members is constituted-

The committee will meet in the first week of every month-

 

*   To plan and finalize and to suggest changes on the current within existing financial constraints.

*   To ensure absolute discipline in the mess

*   To keep the kitchen dining hall and its surrounding clean

*   To discuss other problems if any.

 

Duties of HMs/AHMs in the Mess :

 

The HMs will supervise and dine with the children of their house during breakfast, lunch and dinner. The HMs / AHMs and teachers will remain present in the dinning hall and take their meal with children as per seats assigned to them. They will keep an eye on the children who are sitting with them on the same table to ensure that all children are present and to teach manners to the children.
